Angers SCO 1-2 Girondins de Bordeaux

Stéphane Moulin (Angers coach): “We are disappointed. Reine-Adélaïde wasn’t supposed to take the penalty – Stéphane Bahoken was the designated taker. But I don’t want to talk about that. We started well and played very well in the second half, but the result spoils everything. It is extremely cruel given the effort we put into the game. Before Karamoh’s goal, there were two identical situations. If you keep just trying to hold onto the ball, eventually you will pay for it. We will need more time than usual to get over this because we feel that we threw this game away.”

Eric Bedouet (Bordeaux coach): “We got the luck that we didn’t get against Nice. At Nice we deserved better because we had the chances. Here we were up against a good Angers side, who play good football and press you. Angers made it difficult for us but the players deserve credit for never giving up. We needed to match their commitment to get the equaliser. We suffered in the second half when Angers really put us under pressure.”
