How the UEFA ruling affects AC Milan | English News

After a long wait, UEFA announced their new decision on AC Milan today, after the San Siro side appealed the former verdict at CAS.

In addition to withholding the €12m that Milan made during the Europa League this season, UEFA also issued a deadline for the Rossoneri to break even, which is June 2021. The Rossoneri can also only register 21 players in the upcoming two European seasons (2019/20 and 2020/21).

So what does this mean for Milan? Well, for starters, they will face a tough period in which they will have to stabilize the accounts, in order to meet the break-even deadline. In 2017/18, they recorded a loss of €123m, while in 2015 and 2014 they had €89m and €91m respectively.

For this reason, the redemption of Higuain will be expensive to say the least: €36m to Juventus and €18m gross in salaries. Therefore, it’s also difficult to predict Elliott’s next move, although it’s certain that the decision will halt their plans for the club.
