San Jose Earthquakes sign Brazilian midfielder Judson on loan

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Loan

The San Jose Earthquakes have acquired Brazilian defensive midfielder Judson on loan with option to buy from Tombense, the club announced Thursday. The deal was made using Targeted Allocation Money.

Judson, 25, spent the last three seasons on loan at Avai between the Brazilian top and second divisions. He made 76 league appearances for the club.

“Judson has always been a very important player for his clubs,” said Earthquakes head coach Matias Almeyda said in a media release. “His tireless work ethic and physical style of play are evident in the games I’ve watched. His ability and willingness to cover a lot of a ground will make him an invaluable piece of our defensive structure next season.”

Judson will occupy an international roster spot on the Quakes’ roster, pending receipt of his P1 Visa and ITC.
