Modrić & Rakitić among nominees for UEFA Team of the Year

Monday 10 December 2018 – On Monday, European football’s governing body UEFA published its shortlist for Team of the Year 2018 with two Croatians among the 50 candidates. 

Croatia captain and Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modrić is joined by national team vice-captain Ivan Rakitić among the candidates for UEFA Team of the Year.

The 50 players nominated for UEFA Team of the Year 2018:

Goalkeepers:  Becker, Lloris, Navas, Oblak, Ter Stegen 

Defenders: Alba, Chiellini, Gimenez, Godin, Hernandez, Kimmich, Koulibaly, Manolas, Marcelo, Pique, Ramos, Stones, Umtiti, Van Dijk, Varane 

Midfielders: Modrić, Rakitić, Casemira, De Bruyne, Hazard, Isco, Kante, Kroos, Milner, Niguez, Payet, Pjanić, Pogba, Silva, Thauvin 

Strikers: Bale, Cavani, Dybala, Džeko, Firmino, Griezmann, Kane, Lewandowski, Mane, Mbappe, Messi, Neymar, Ronaldo, Salah, Suarez.
