Six players cut from Republic of Ireland squad ahead of UEFA Nations League ties

Martin O’Neill has cut six players from his Republic of Ireland squad for this weekend’s UEFA Nations League double header.

RoI host Denmark on Saturday and Wales on Tuesday, looking for their first points of the new competition after losing 4-1 in Cardiff, but they will do it with a panel of 26 players – cut from the initial 32-man squad.

Greg Cunningham, Richie Towell, Graham Burke, Alan Judge, Daryl Horgan and Ronan Curtis have all been left out of O’Neill’s updated squad for the games.

On top of that, it was confirmed that Stephen Ward will not be involved after visiting a specialist on Monday regarding a persistent knee injury.
