European football’s governing body UEFA have recalled some famous treble’s involving the Champions League trophy in recent years, including Inter’s in the 2009/10 season.
“Inter won the Coppa Italia 1-0 against AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico thanks to Diego Milito’s goal, and less than two weeks later, another goal from the Argentinian allowed the Nerazzurri to win the scudetto with a victory against AC Siena. The last trophy left to win was the long-awaited UEFA Champions League. In the final in Madrid, Bayern, who themselves were seeking a treble, awaited Jose Mourinho’s side and Milito was once again the hero of the evening.”
