Lyon followed up their 2-1 win over Manchester City with an impressive 4-2 victory against Marseille in Ligue 1.

Houssem Aouar put Lyon 1-0 up before World Cup winner Florian Thauvin equalised. A double from Bertrand Traore and a penalty from Nabil Fekir had Lyon 4-1 up with 15 minutes to go.

Clinton N’Jie restored some credibility for the visitors with a goal late on but shortly after Croatian defender Duje Caleta-Car was sent off to cap a disappointing day for L’OM.

Paris Saint-Germain bounced back from their 3-2 defeat to Liverpool by beating Rennes 3-1. Thomas Tuchel’s men went behind after just 11 minutes when Adrien Rabiot scored an own goal.

Angel Di Maria levelled the scores just before the break and Thomas Meunier kept up his goalscoring form with PSG’s second just past the hour mark.

Former Stoke City forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting sealed the win with his first goal in PSG colours after coming off the bench.

Elsewhere, Bordeaux beat Guingamp 3-1 with Francois Kamano, Yann Karamoh and Nicolas De Preville cancelling out a Marcus Thuram penalty.
