Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri believes Cristiano Ronaldo will score his first Serie A goal against Sassuolo on Sunday.

Ronaldo has yet to score since his €100 million move from Real Madrid in July, yet Juve have won their first three matches and are top of the table as the league resumes play following the international break.

His only contribution on the scoresheet thus far has been an assist on Mario Mandzukic’s goal in the 2-0 win against Lazio on Aug. 25.

“He has trained well, but I do not expect anything more or less from him than I did in the first three games,” Allegri said at a news conference on Saturday. “Everyone has been waiting for Ronaldo [to score] and he set up Mandzukic. Tomorrow he will play and will score.”

Ronaldo, who was rested for Portugal’s friendly against Croatia and UEFA Nations League opener against Italy, will start the game at the Allianz Stadium.

Allegri said he is keen to begin rotating his players with the Champions League set to begin next week, and with the exception of Blaise Matuidi, who made a pair of appearances for France, anyone who started twice while on international duty is not likely to play against Sassuolo.

That will leave the door open for Paulo Dybala, who started the opener against Chievo, was left on the bench against Lazio and was a late substitute against Parma.

“I have a lot of players and a big squad and someone has to be left out,” Allegri said. “There’s room for everyone.”

Meanwhile, online retailer Idealo released a study showing that sales of Juventus shirts have increased by 145.5 percent over a year ago following Ronaldo’s signing.

Juve’s shirt is the top seller in Italy, with Real Madrid’s second and Inter Milan’s third.
