Arsenal striker Stephy Mavididi set for Juventus move – source

ESPN FC’s Craig Burley details the expectations for new managers Maurizio Sarri and Unai Emery ahead of Chelsea and Arsenal’s match this weekend.

Arsenal’s Unai Emery insists that he has confidence in both Bernd Leno and Petr Cech and their abilities to play out from the back.

Arsenal academy striker Stephy Mavididi is close to agreeing a move to Juventus, a source has told ESPN FC.

Mavididi, 20, has not made a first-team appearance for the Gunners and is set to move to Italy, where he is expected to play for the Juventus under 23-team in Serie C.

The source said the England youth international was set to undergo a medical before finalising the move.

Mavididi, who spent loan spells at Charlton and Preston North End last season, is highly rated at Arsenal but remains behind 19-year-old Eddie Nketiah in the battle for a first-team place.

He will become the latest English Arsenal academy product to move to an overseas league, with midfielder Marcus McGuane having joined Barcelona’s B-side in the summer and Chris Willock switching to Benfica last year.
