UEFA Super Cup Could Prove Decisive For Modric-Inter Saga

Sky Sport have brought an update on the complicated situation surrounding Luka Modric and his attempts to free himself from Real Madrid to join Inter.

The Croatian midfielder’s agents met with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to hold talks this morning and Modric then met with his agents afterwards but the meeting with Perez still eludes Modric, who is determined to join the Nerazzurri.

Los Blancos continue to try and waste time and avoid meeting with Modric at all costs and Wednesday could prove a decisive day for his future with the club. On Monday, Real will announce their squad for the UEFA Super Cup that takes place on Wednesday night and it will be on Wednesday that the reigning Champions League winners fly out to Estonia where the Super Cup is taking place. Whether Modric is on the plane or not will be a huge indication as to whether he is joining the Nerazzurri or not the report suggests. If on the plane, the chances of him arriving in Milano will significantly decrease.

For Modric this saga is nothing to do with money and he has every intention to honour the agreement reached with Inter but as things stand Inter and Real Madrid are yet to hold formal talks over the 32-year-old.
