Mediaset Spain secures UEFA Euro 2020 rights

Shortly after airing the entire 2018 World Cup in Russia via its free-to-air (FTA) channels Telecinco and Cuatro, Spanish broadcaster Mediaset Spain has announced its acquisition of exclusive FTA rights to the UEFA Euro 2020 quadrennial football tournament. The deal with UEFA includes rights to the international football event, featuring a new format with 24 teams playing in 12 European countries from 12 June to 12 July 2020, plus a package of 80 international matches including qualifiers and friendlies leading up to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The broadcaster also covered Euro 2012 and 2016 as well as the 2010, 2014 and 2018 World Cups on its FTA channels.
