Liverpool fans pranked by U.S. comedian Alison Becker over goalkeeper signing

ESPN FC’s Stewart Robson explains why the goalkeeping position is so pivotal for Liverpool’s chances at winning the Premier League this season.

With a potential €75 million transfer nearing completion, Liverpool fans are currently in a state of high tension over the prospect of their club signing goalkeeper Alisson Becker from Roma.

As the anticipation continued to ramp up, many Reds fans thought they’d seen the Brazilian goalkeeper confirm his transfer to Anfield on Tuesday when his Twitter account appeared to rubber stamp it.

However, on closer inspection, the “confirmation” actually came from U.S. actress and comedian Alison Becker, who obviously recently found out the hard way she shares a name with an international footballer.

Becker, who has appeared in “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “Parks & Recreation”, decided to troll Liverpool fans around the world by mischievously announcing that she had completed her big move to Merseyside.

Sometimes you’ve just got to sit back and applaud a master at work.
