Barcelona ‘agree terms’ with Paris Saint-Germain for midfielder Adrien Rabiot

BARCELONA have agreed terms with Paris Saint-Germain for the signing of Adrien Rabiot, according to reports.

Sport claim the France star asked for around £133,000 a week and the Nou Camp delegates who went to see him – including Eric Abidal – agreed.

Barcelona are said to have agreed a deal with PSG for Adrien Rabiot

Rabiot’s agent, his mother, is said to have no problems with the transfer as Rabiot enters the final year of his contract.

Midfielder Rabiot, 23, was named as a standby for France’s World Cup squad but asked to be taken off.

Les Bleus boss Didier Deschamps, whose side have made the final after the 2-0 win over Belgium last night, said he was making a “huge mistake”.

Rabiot is said to have asked for a five-year deal and to be used further up the pitch in a No 8 role.

The former Manchester City youth star currently occupies a deeper lying No 6 position with PSG.

Parc des Princes president Nasser Al-Khelaifi will look to cash in on Rabiot this summer knowing he will leave for free next year.

He did play hardball originally, however, with other reports yesterday claiming that PSG said a switch will not happen this summer.

Barcelona are looking to rebuild in the centre of the park to step up their challenge in the Champions League after winning La Liga last season.
