NEYMAR wants Luis Suarez to replace Edinson Cavani at Paris-Saint-Germain.

That is the claim from Spain today, with PSG’s Brazil superstar keen to renew his Barcelona strike-partnership alongside Suarez.

World record buy Neymar, 26, has been linked with Real Madrid after an unsettled first season with the French champions, including a difficult relationship with Cavani.

But now Spanish newspaper Sport say Neymar is resigned to missing out on a return to Spain and instead hopes Cavani is ditched for his fellow Uruguay frontman Suarez.

Selling Suarez would be a tough call for La Liga kings Barca after they lost Neymar to PSG for £196m last summer.

And Suarez is still thriving at the Nou Camp alongside Lionel Messi.

Sport report that former club Napoli are among the admirers of Cavani, who at 31 is the same age as Suarez and Messi.

And one last big pay day might suit him, especially if Cavani hopes to be the main man rather than a foil to Neymar.

The pair’s relationship became testy when they argued over who should take a PSG penalty last September.

Cavani claimed in May the two South American legends had “come to an understanding”.

But Neymar and PSG’S three other Brazil aces are thought to have an influence over whether Cavani stays.

Meanwhile, Neymar claims he is still hurting so much over Brazil’s World Cup quarter-final exit against Brazil that even just playing football again will be a struggle.

He said in an Instagram post: “The pain is very great because we knew we could get there, we knew we had the conditions to go further, to make history… but it was not this time.
