Manchester United’s David De Gea happy at club despite Real Madrid speculation

Fred comments on rumours linking him with a move to Man United, while Brazil boss Tite urges him to solve his situation as quickly as possible.

In an exclusive interview with ESPN FC, Ryan Giggs recounts his Man United memories and reveals what the current squad can learn from his success.

The FC panel react to reports that Man United are lodging a €100m bid for Gareth Bale and question whether the Welshman even fits the Jose Mourinho mould.

ESPN FC’s Craig Burley explains why Gareth Bale should sit tight and bide his time at Real Madrid before moving elsewhere.

Romelu Lukaku was asked who had the better squad Manchester United or Belgium, and the striker chose the latter.

David De Gea has distanced himself from a potential move to Real Madrid this summer by insisting he is “happy” at Manchester United.

The goalkeeper has been repeatedly linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu stadium since coming close to swapping Manchester for the Spanish capital in 2015.

“I’m happy where I am,” he told AS. “Now, I’m very focused on the national team. It is the most important thing. Do well in Russia, have a good role, and do things in the best possible way.

“I’m always calm, the important thing now is to start the World Cup on June 15.”

The 27-year-old has a year left on his contract at United with the club holding an option to extend his deal by another 12 months until 2020.

Sources have told ESPN FC that negotiations over a new contract have already started.

De Gea was crowned United’s Player of the Year last season for the fourth time since 2013, while also collecting the club’s Players’ Player of the Year award and the Premier League golden glove award.

He has made 315 appearances for United since arriving in a £18.9 million deal from Atletico Madrid in 2011.
