Real Madrid links dismissed by Bayern Munich’s David Alaba

David Alaba has dismissed speculation that he could join Real Madrid, saying he has “a lot to achieve” at Bayern Munich.

Alaba has won seven Bundesliga titles and the Champions League at Bayern, but earlier this month AS reported his father and agent George as saying Madrid were “really interested in David — it’s no secret.”

But the Bayern defender, speaking while on international duty for Austria, said he was happy at the Allianz Arena.

“I know nothing about my father’s interview with Spanish media. I asked him about it and he doesn’t know anything about it either,” he told reporters.

“At the moment, there’s nothing to say. I’m very, very happy in Munich and have a lot still to achieve here.

“I’m proud to attract interest from such clubs, but I’m already playing for one of the best clubs in the world and want to continue my career here.”

Reports in Germany on Monday suggested Barcelona are also interested in the left-back, who is under contract until 2021, but German magazine kicker said Bayern have said he is not for sale.
