Chicago Fire’s Matt Polster undergoes knee surgery, out 4-5 months


The Chicago Fire announced on Thursday that midfielder/defender Matt Polster has undergone surgery to repair his right knee.

Polster suffered an MCL tear, and the surgery was done without complication, according to the club.

The 24-year-old has played in one match this season, the opening fixture of the Fire’s season on March 10, when he notched an assist. The team announced Polster’s recovery time is expected to take four-to-five months.
