Transfer Talk Napoli’s Jorginho prefers Manchester City move to United

Clubs are slowly turning their eyes toward the summer window. Transfer Talk has the updates on all the latest rumours.

Jorginho wants City over United

Napoli star Jorginho would prefer to join Manchester City to Manchester United this summer.

The Premier League rivals will compete for the Italy international, who has been a big part of the Partenopei’s Scudetto challenge against five-time holders Juventus.

The Sun reports that the 26-year-old favours linking up with Pep Guardiola to Jose Mourinho, who is in the market for two midfielders this summer to replace Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick.

Guardiola’s other options should a move for Jorginho fail to materialise are Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara and Shakhtar Donetsk’s Fred.

United compete with Barca for Lenglet

Mourinho also will line up Sevilla star Clement Lenglet to bolster his defence, having witnessed the 22-year-old’s quality in the Champions League last 16 defeat to the La Liga side.

Lenglet and Sevilla were thoroughly beaten by Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final on Saturday, but that won’t stop Ernesto Valverde’s team from chasing the centre-back this summer.

However, The Sun claims Man United will compete with Barcelona to sign the £20m-rated Frenchman, setting up a potential bidding war in which Sevilla could see a financial windfall.

Six clubs line up to sign Fellaini

Marouane Fellaini will have his pick of at least six clubs when his Manchester United contract expires this summer.

The Belgium international has failed to agree on new terms to extend his five-year stay at Old Trafford, and the Mirror believes that Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Monaco, Besiktas, West Ham and Leicester are all keen to sign him on a free transfer.

Although he’s not a regular starter under Mourinho, the Portuguese boss resisted a potential sale in January due to his trust in the player and concern over the depth in his squad.

But at 30 years of age, Fellaini might opt for a fresh start and a better chance at starting week in, week out for his club side.

Wenger offered PSG honour

Arsene Wenger could make a swift return to football after his Arsenal departure this summer with Paris Saint-Germain keen to lure him to the French capital.

The Frenchman will be offered the honour of being the club’s president, claims the Mirror, and handed the keys to their pursuit of claiming Champions League glory.

European success has proved elusive for PSG despite spending hundreds of millions, but with Thomas Tuchel lined up to replace Unai Emery as head coach, Wenger could find himself working alongside the German to push Les Parisiens over the line.

Tap-ins

Tuttosport claims Juventus could sell Alex Sandro and Claudio Marchisio this summer. They add that Mattia Caldara, Matteo Darmian and Emre Can could arrive as the Old Lady plot big changes.

– The Mail reports that Gianluigi Buffon could prolong his career with a shock move to Boca Juniors.

Boca boss Guillermo Barros Schelotto has confirmed talks have taken place and that the Italy legend will respond at the end of May.
