WATCH: Double red card shown to Reyna and Juarez after Video Review

The Vancouver Whitecaps were already down 3-0, but when they went down to nine men after a double red card in the 40th minute, there was no coming back against Sporting Kansas City on Friday.

Yordy Reyna and Efrain Juarez both received straight red cards from referee Kevin Stott after Video Review, leaving the Whitecaps to see out the final 50 minutes of the match with a two-man disadvantage.

Stott went to the sideline monitor to review a dust-up between the two teams in the wake of a yellow-card tackle by Vancouver’s Kendall Waston on Sporting’s Roger Espinoza.

It was the third time in Whitecaps history that the club had two players sent off in the same MLS match: Waston and Matias Laba saw red within eight minutes of one another back on Aug. 29, 2015, while it was Gershon Koffie and Eric Hassli receiving their marching orders on April 6, 2011.
