AC Milan to face Barcelona and Manchester United and Tottenham in International Champions Cup

Gennaro Gattuso will lead AC Milan in the International Champions Cup for the first time.

AC Milan will return to the United States this summer to participate in the International Champions Cup for the sixth year running, with games scheduled against Barcelona, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Their first fixture, against United, will be staged at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, on July 25 before they move to Minneapolis to face Spurs on July 31. Milan then return to California to face Barcelona in Santa Clara on Aug. 4 — a fortnight before the start of the Serie A season.

Milan, who travelled to the U.S. in the 2013, 2014 and 2016 editions, will be looking to fare better than in recent seasons.

They lost 3-0 to Olympiacos, 5-1 to Manchester City and 2-0 to Liverpool in 2014, and picked up a draw and two defeats in 2016.

A 4-0 win over Bayern Munich in Shenzhen, China, last year proved to be a false dawn for a new-look side then coached by Vincenzo Montella, and they will be looking for better results this summer with Gennaro Gattuso guiding them through the preseason.
