The Brazil international is yet to win the most prestigious individual gong in world football, however he was a finalist for Fifa’s The Best award in October and came third in last year’s Ballon d’Or.

It is also claimed that the former Barcelona star will earn £36,000 if Brazil lift the World Cup – and a further £144,000 if he is named Player of the Tournament or finishes as top goalscorer.

However, his earnings are also dependent on his performances and who he is playing for.

The deal, which was signed in 2011, divides teams into four categories.

With teams such as Chelsea, Milan, Manchester United, Arsenal, Juventus, Bayern, Inter, Barcelona and Real Madrid being categorised as ‘A’ clubs.

But Neymar’s hope of accomplishing all these lofty goals have been placed in doubt as he fractured his foot during PSG’s 3-0 defeat of Marseille in Ligue 1 on February 25.

The injury immediately ruled the 26-year-old out of Tuesday’s Champions League last-16 second leg against Real Madrid and he now faces a battle to regains sharpness ahead of the World Cup.

Neymar has scored 28 goals in 30 appearances for PSG in all competitions since signing from Barcelona for a world-record fee last year.
