PSG flop Hatem Ben Arfa ‘celebrates’ one year out of Unai Emery’s side with epic Instagram post

HATEM BEN ARFA has taken to Instagram to ‘celebrate’ his one year anniversary of his last appearance for Paris Saint-Germain.

The 31-year-old is poised to become a free agent in the summer after enduring a nightmare campaign after being frozen out of the side by Unai Emery.

In a picture uploaded to social media, the ex-Newcastle star posed with his thumbs up alongside a cake with a single candle in it.

He said: “Happy birthday to me. Celebrating one year in the cupboard.”

His last outing for Les Parisiens came on April 5, 2017, where he netted a brace and set up Javier Pastore in a 4-0 drubbing against Avranches in the Coupe de France quarter-finals.

Ben Arfa was a regular under Emery during the 2016/17 campaign, chalking up 32 appearances in all competitions.

But with the additions of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe last summer, to go alongside the likes of Angel Di Maria, Julian Draxler and Pastore, Ben Arfa has been reduced to no game time.

In an Instagram post last week, the former Hull loanee declared he will leave the club at the end of the season.

He said: “Soon it is the end of my adventure at PSG. Despite the difficult times, I am happy to have worn this jersey.

“I will keep wonderful memories with my teammates and through this message I want to take the opportunity to thank the many supporters.

“I will always like this club.”

Ben Arfa has been heavily linked with a move to Leicester, where he could link up with former Nice boss Claude Puel at the King Power Stadium.

While Montreal Impact manager Remi Garde has offered the four-time Ligue 1 champion a fresh start in the MLS.
