 Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 AS Monaco

Unai Emery (Paris Saint-Germain coach): “Monaco played really well this evening, but we were able to impose our style of play and keep our philosophy. We were on top of things, especially in the first half. We didn’t give them a lot of chances and we managed to create a lot for ourselves. We were able to control the match and the scoreline without putting ourselves in danger.”

Thiago Silva (Paris Saint-Germain defender): “It wasn’t an easy game against a very good Monaco team. It’s another trophy for us, an important one for the club, the fans and all the players. We’re really very happy this evening. When we play like that, it’s not easy for our opponents, even if Monaco played well this evening. They showed quite a lot of quality. We play them again in the league in ten days’ time, we’ll have to be ready.”

Edinson Cavani (PSG forward): “The most important thing was to bring the cup back with us, that’s why we are blessed this evening. It’s good to score, because a forward lives for goals. It’s good to score in each final. We’re here to win trophies and titles, that’s why we’re happy. We don’t slacken off. We work all the time to try and win everything. Sometimes it works, sometimes not, but we’re happy to win the trophy today. It’s just as enjoyable as ever to win trophies.”

Marco Verratti (Paris Saint-Germain midfielder): “It was a good final against a good team, but we have had a good run, we deserve this trophy. We scored early, which meant we dominated early on. It’s a good result and another trophy for us. We’re happy to have won this evening.”

Kevin Trapp (Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper): “It’s always good to win a trophy. We’re very happy to have won this evening against a good Monaco team. We prepared well, we knew the kind of match we’d have tonight. We celebrated well in the dressing room, we’re here to win trophies, that’s why we’re footballers. We’re really delighted this evening.”

Adrien Rabiot (PSG midfielder): “It’s not easy. People say it’s easy, but it’s never easy to win a final against a team like Monaco. We’re very happy to win trophies domestically, I think you can see that, and I hope there will be two more before the end of the season.”

Leonardo Jardim (Monaco coach): “Paris were more clinical with a great performance from Kylian, who turned the match in his team’s favour. We had chances, but we didn’t put them away, that’s the way it goes. Our opponents deserve their win. I have congratulated the players. They tried to get back into the game by pressing high up the pitch. We kept a good attitude. Now we have to forget about the cup and work on the league. This week is crucial. We have two games against two good teams [Rennes and Nantes]. We’ll have to recover well.”
