England 2-0 Norway: UEFA Women’s U17s Championship



John Griffiths has guided England’s U17s to the Euro finals

England qualified for the UEFA Women’s U17 Championship finals after a 2-0 win over Norway.

Four points from their opening two elite round qualifiers left the Young Lionesses needing one more positive result against the Scandinavians to book their place in Lithuania in May.

After a goalless first half, John Griffiths’s side broke the deadlock through Jess Park’s long-range effort eight minutes after the restart.

An own goal by Lotte Fikseth Fossem on the hour mark sealed Norway’s fate.

England will join Germany, Spain, Finland, Holland, Italy, Poland and hosts Lithuania in the eight-team finals.

The draw takes place on Monday 9 April.
